Meeting

We have decided to cancel the following meeting dates

Canceled October 31st,
November 14th & 28th
December 26th.

Here are the new dates going forward: New Dates

November 7th and 21st
Dec 12th (final Meeting for 08).
We will continue with January and the other months as planned.

Our next meeting time is 6:30pm to 8:30 pm in Windsor CT.

Topics/Activities

Stop by and take a look at our new scrapbook of all the members and learn a little about them from their mini bios.

The Coin Exchange Fundraiser is Due. Please bring in all Funds raised.

On November 7th meeting, we will have a special visitor sitting in on our meeting to learn more about our program.

During this meeting we will (a) have a sign up sheet for the Nov 21st potluck dinner. Please list the item you will be bringing and if possible, please bring in a hard copy recipe of the item(s) for safety purposes, plus we plan to use these recipe for future projects…more on this later.
(b) We will be drawing name s for the grab bag for the Dec 12th meeting and
(c), we will finish up the “what I want to be” topic and final (d), we will decide which family we will be adopting/sponsor for the holidays.

For Nov 21st – we plan to have the potluck dinner in Manchester CT. Parents are welcome to stay for this event. If you volunteer to bring an item, please note that there are approximately 21 members.

We will also collect all the items for the family we’ve adopted.

During our final meeting for the year Dec 12th - First we will have a new Jeopardy game, which will recap what we have learned and what happened in 2008.

We will then get together and exchange our grab bag gifts and finish off by having a fulfilled game night! (Grab bag minimum is $5, please nothing expensive, just something simple for the individual you picked).

If you would like, you can bring a game we can play indoors and that can be played with more than 2 people and is age appropriate.

Starting in January 2009 we will be adjusting the meeting time from 6:30pm – 8:30pm to 6:30pm. – 8:00pm.

Donations

Donations for the month of October were really great, thank you…Please continue to support the kids & the program with your donations.

Donation is what keeps the program running, your participation is very important and valuable. We would like to accomplish a lot in 2009. We won’t be able to do so unless everyone participates. This is why we have different fundraisers, and we would like everyone to participate in them.
The program’s goal is to Enhance, Encourage, and Educate, and we can’t do it all on 0$, so please commit to your children’s education and donate. Many Thanks

Donation is per family, not per child and It’s per month.

Members! Don’t forget your $Dollar Dues$ - due each meeting, just $1 per member.

Fund Raiser

Funds Due on November 7th – {It’s that time again…time to raise some funds – Our Coin Exchange fund raiser in now in effect: this is where your child will start off with a quarter and exchange it for a dollar and then exchange the dollar for $2, then $5 and so on… Please see the handout for more information (.25, will be provided to each member at the 10.3.08 meeting). The due date for this fundraiser is October 31st}.

Candy sale, this event may change…an update will be sent.

Field Trip

None Scheduled for the rest of the year.

Ice-skating again in January 09?

We plan on visiting the airplane museum, the nature walk museum in New Britain, see a movie or two and much more in 2009!
